Warning: this post is definitely racy, completely naughty, and very not safe for work.
Once in a while, (and I don’t say this lightly), something modern comes along and takes its vintage predecessor to the next level. And sometimes still, the next level isn’t a horribly gaudy remake; sometimes it’s actually almost…better. Agent Provocateur, the British-based luxury lingerie retailer with the Red Light District inspired storefront all of us femme fatales know and lust after, has done just that.
Started in 1994 by Vivienne Westwood’s son and his then-wife, Agent Provocateur has taken the lingerie world by storm from London all the way to Melrose, stirring up quite the saucy controversy along the way. ::ahem, the ultra-sexy Kylie Minogue adverts shown only in theatres, ahem:: They even chose an unexpected It Girl for their ads: Maggie Gyllenhaal, the darling of indie cinema that effortlessly glides into the role of a naughty 1920′s pin-up.
Let’s take a look at some of their sexiest and most controversial ads. Prepare to die a thousand deaths at the hands of envy when you see all the vintage-inspired lace and silver screen silhouettes. French knickers anyone?
How many kidneys would you trade for a revolving wardrobe of Agent Provocateur?
Bisous.
ps: this is certainly NSFW, but here is the Kylie Minogue for Agent Provocateur vid:
