Well, I suppose now is as good a time as any to let you know that…
I’m moving to Portland, Maine!
You have no idea how happy this makes me; for a girl who has lived her life feeling as though she were a gypsy cast away from her home on the sea, Portland is heaven. Recently given the #11 spot on Forbes’ Best Hipster Neighborhoods in America (which in and of itself, Forbes, is just so uncool), I am looking forward to seafood fresh from the docks, farm-to-table restaurants, locally brewed Allagash, quiet coffee shops, art walks, port parties, and a train ride away from my friends in Bangor, Boston, and NYC. Not to mention brick buildings, historic sites, the local museum, lighthouses, crashing waves, cliffs, and most of all…snow!
So I’m all set to move into my adorable flat with polished pine floors and bay windows galore in late October, and now I just have to scheme palette and decor. I’m thinking, when ‘Romance Married the Sea’. I’ve dug through my Pinterest boards and pulled together these inspiration photos for vintage small spaces.
New England, this girl’s coming home.

“So fine was the morning except for a streak of wind here and there that the sea and sky looked all one fabric, as if sails were stuck high up in the sky, or the clouds had dropped down into the sea.”
― Virginia Woolf, To the Lighthouse

Wonderful pictures! Good luck for the move!!!! :-)
Thanks, lady!! You too! All this sudden change is frightening for us but I’m confident we’ll make it out alive and happy :)
